Set up the iPad kiosk
The kiosk is a dedicated iPad running the Clockout app, left on and plugged in somewhere your team passes on the way in — usually the back of house, near the schedule.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- An iPad running a currently supported iPadOS version.
- Wi-Fi at the store.
- A power outlet and, ideally, a stand or wall mount. The kiosk is meant to stay put.
Point it at your store
Section titled “Point it at your store”- Install the Clockout iPad app on the iPad. It appears as StoreOps on the device, so that is the name you will see on the home screen.
- Open the app and sign in with an account that has access to the store. Any team member’s account works — it does not have to be a manager’s.
- On the Select Store screen, choose the store this iPad is for.
There is no separate kiosk mode and nothing to pair. The kiosk shows one store at a time, and you can change which store from the Select Store screen at any point. If you run two locations, each one needs its own iPad.
Lock the iPad down
Section titled “Lock the iPad down”Because the kiosk lives in a shared space, treat it as a fixed-purpose device:
- Turn on Guided Access (Settings → Accessibility) so the app cannot be exited without a passcode.
- Disable Auto-Lock so the screen stays on the clock-in view.
- Keep it on the store’s Wi-Fi network.
Check it works
Section titled “Check it works”Have one employee clock in and back out. Then confirm the punches appear on their timecard in the web app under Timesheets — that round trip proves the sign-in, the network, and the store selection are all correct. If the punches are on the wrong day, revisit the store’s time zone in Set up your store.
Day-to-day use is covered in Clock in on the iPad kiosk.
